Argentina Faces a New Generation of Fraud

New Event

Finance Security Forum Argentina 2026

  • Second week of November
  • Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • Invitation-only event

The organizers are currently inviting speakers, executives and companies interested in taking part in this first Argentine edition.

Argentina’s financial industry is entering a new stage of digital transformation, in which security is no longer simply a technological issue but a strategic challenge. As digital transactions continue to grow, so do the techniques used to compromise identities, accounts and financial systems.

Finance Security Forum comes to Buenos Aires for the first time, bringing together leaders from banks, fintechs and digital asset companies to discuss fraud, digital identity, risk, compliance and artificial intelligence.

Deepfakes, synthetic identities, account takeover, social engineering and AI-powered attacks are part of a new generation of threats that is forcing banks, fintechs, payment companies and digital asset businesses to rethink their prevention and risk management strategies.

Against this backdrop, Finance Security Forum is coming to Argentina for the first time during the second week of November. The event will bring together more than 150 executives and decision-makers from across the financial ecosystem to discuss how to anticipate these challenges and build a safer, more trusted industry.

Argentina Faces a More Sophisticated Threat Landscape

The latest data shows why this conversation is particularly relevant.

According to Sumsub’s Identity Fraud Report 2025–2026, Argentina recorded an identity fraud rate of 3.8% in 2025, the highest among the Latin American countries included in the analysis. Globally, the rate stood at 2.2%.

But the most relevant issue is not simply how much fraud exists, but how it is changing.

The same report identifies a 180% increase in attacks classified as sophisticated—those combining multiple stages and techniques to bypass security controls. Their share of identity fraud cases rose from 10% in 2024 to 28% in 2025.

In Latin America, meanwhile, deepfake attacks increased by an average of 201%, while phishing and money mule networks continue to pose significant threats to businesses and consumers.

This scenario presents the industry with a new challenge: detecting fraud after it happens is no longer enough. The ability to anticipate behavior, verify identities and assess risk in real time is becoming increasingly important.

An Agenda Focused on the Industry’s Real-World Challenges

Finance Security Forum Argentina will address this transformation from an integrated perspective, bringing together financial institutions, fintechs, technology providers, and risk and compliance specialists.

The agenda will include discussions on:

  • AI-driven fraud
  • Digital identity and next-generation KYC
  • Fraud and AML: toward an integrated financial defense
  • The new technology architecture of Compliance
  • Fraud from the perspective of payment ecosystems
  • Digital assets, regulation and emerging risks
  • Real-time risk management and prevention
  • Data security and customer trust
  • CISO Talk: the new priorities of financial security

The goal is not only to put emerging threats on the table, but also to explore the strategies, technologies and collaboration models the industry needs to develop in order to address them.

An Event for Decision-Makers

Finance Security Forum will be an in-person, executive, invitation-only event, featuring a carefully curated audience of more than 150 leaders from banks, fintechs, payment companies, digital asset businesses and technology providers.

Invited profiles include C-Level executives, CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and leaders responsible for Technology, IT, Risk, Fraud, Compliance, Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation and Innovation.

Apply here to attend.

The format will combine panel discussions, executive presentations and networking opportunities, with the goal of encouraging peer-to-peer exchange and generating concrete conversations around the challenges facing the sector.

Buenos Aires Joins the Regional Tour

The arrival in Argentina is part of the Finance Security Forum Regional Tour 2026, an initiative designed to connect financial security leaders across different Latin American markets.

Following its first Argentine edition, the Forum will continue its regional tour with an edition in Mexico City, strengthening a regional agenda around the major challenges facing financial security.

“The evolution of fraud is forcing the industry to rethink the way it approaches security. Today, identity, fraud, risk, compliance and artificial intelligence are deeply interconnected. Finance Security Forum was created precisely to provide a space where those facing these challenges can share experiences, cases and concrete strategies,” says Ana Maria Yumiseva, Director of Frecuencia Money, the event organizer.
